With Skill and Compassion, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Goes Beyond City Limits
At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, our commitment is straightforward yet profound: provide food and love to those in need. While we regularly deliver nearly 100,000 meals every month to homebound clients across our traditional routes, our commitment to service extends beyond city limits. From the foothills of Pasadena to the ocean vistas of Santa Monica, we ensure that vulnerable individuals—whether near or far— receive the nourishment and compassion they deserve.
Our mission is straightforward yet profound: provide food and love to those in need.
Under the dedicated leadership of Kitchen Manager Sandy Leon, our skilled team of staff and volunteers goes the extra mile by preparing nearly 700 additional meals each day for a network of over a dozen partner organizations throughout Los Angeles County. These include Meals on Wheels branches in West L.A., Santa Monica, and various other communities, essential partners like Alta Med in different neighborhoods, and special initiatives such as providing PB&J sandwiches, hot dogs, and burritos for the youngest learners at Las Familias near downtown L.A.
This collaborative effort touches countless lives and broadens the reach of our core purpose: to combat hunger and alleviate isolation among the neediest of our neighbors. By preparing and distributing meals that are collected by or delivered to our partners, we amplify the circle of care that defines our mission, fostering a network of hope and support that extends far beyond our immediate routes.
Together, this effort encomencompassing all aspects of our operation, stands as a testament to the power of shared compassion. It extends our reach across the greater Los Angeles area—a real-time example of our unwavering dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
