Serving Food and Love for 47 Years

“In the beginning, it was just us and a few pots of stew. But the response was tremendous, and the great need in the community became impossible to ignore. Over the years, it became so much more than plates of food; it became friendship, family, and nourishment for the soul.” — Sister Alice Marie Quinn, DC

It all started 47 years ago on July 7, 1977, with a pot of stew in the basement kitchen of Precious Blood Parish near downtown LA. That single pot of stew, which fed 83 hungry and vulnerable Angelenos, has grown into St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, an organization that now prepares and delivers nearly one million meals annually.

We owe gratitude to our staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors like you who support our mission to provide food and love to our homebound neighbors, most of whom are too weak to shop for or prepare food themselves.

Your continued dedication to supporting the mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels sustains its 47-year legacy of care and compassion, ensuring that it endures.
