Senior Hydration: How You Can Help
The summer heat can endanger our senior clients and other vulnerable people we serve. Heightened dehydration risks due to insufficient access to clean water is a common issue we take seriously.
To combat this, the St. Vincent Meals on Wheels Nutrition Team led by our dedicated Registered Dietician Kathy, initiated the Summer Instant Hydration Program (SIHP), distributing Brita filters and pitchers to ensure seniors can access clean drinking water and get the hydration they need. This program has already provided essential support for clients managing chronic conditions, enhancing their overall health and mitigating life-threatening dehydration risks.
How You Can Help: The success of SIHP demonstrates the vital role community support plays in senior well-being. Your contribution can expand this life-saving initiative, providing more seniors with the resources to stay hydrated and healthy during extreme weather conditions.
Please consider donating to ensure our elderly community members are protected throughout the harsh summer months.
Every donation can help improve the health outcomes and quality of life for the vulnerable Angelenos we serve daily.
