We are thrilled to announce Executive Chef & Owner Bret Thompson, along with his Pez Coastal Kitchen and a rich culinary background spanning notable establishments nationwide and abroad, will be St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ 2024 Hollywood Under The Stars VIP Angel. Both Chef Bret and his wife and partner Lucy Thompson-Ramirez, in collaboration with their dynamic Pez team, have backed the mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels for many years. Their generous support of our annual Valentine-themed fundraiser Food is Love, and other initiatives have woven them into the SVMOW family fabric.

Alongside his wife, Chef Bret has made an indelible impact on Los Angeles’ dining landscape with past endeavors, including the popular Pez Cantina and LA Burrito Co. in Montebello. Most recent is their gorgeously designed Pez Coastal Kitchen in Old Town Pasadena, where Chef Bret shifts his focus onto innovative techniques like curing, smoking, and intentionally dry-aging seafood and other mouth-watering culinary creations.

Residing within a historic structure from 1896, thoroughly redesigned by Margee Drews Design, Pez Coastal Kitchen greets patrons with a light, airy dining room radiating a Californian-Mediterranean coastal vibe, a cozy lounge featuring romantic Havana-style fans, and an unmissable cocktail bar. Suitable for drinks with friends, intimate dinners, group gatherings, or special occasions, Pez Coastal Kitchen provides a remarkable experience for all who visit.
