Martin Sheen 2023 Inaugural Vincent’s Heart Award Recipient

Academy Award-nominated and multi-Emmy Award-winning actor and activist Martin Sheen will be presented with the inaugural Vincent’s Heart Award at Hollywood Under the Stars 2023 presented by the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian order that established St. Vincent Meals on Wheels in 1977. Sheen has supported SVMOW as well other philanthropic organizations such as the St. Joseph’s Center in Venice, CA, the St. Francis Center in Downtown Los Angeles, and the Malibu Labor Exchange.

Sr. Joyce Weller, Daughter of Charity and Board Chair, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels noted, “We are recognizing Martin Sheen for his standing in solidarity with the forgotten and the discounted,” adding, “Very much like our own patron St. Vincent, who told us ‘Go to the poor, and you will find God,’ Martin’s example inspires many others to open their hearts to do more, to be more, and to meet God in our forgotten, disregarded, and marginalized brothers and sisters.”
