Holiday Gift Bags

“Your kindness should be known to all.” — Philippians 4:4-7

At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, we embrace the spirit of giving not just during the holiday season, but every day. Our mission is to ensure that no senior in Los Angeles goes hungry or uncelebrated, a commitment that grows even more crucial as California anticipates that, by 2030, older adults aged 65-plus will make up one-quarter of the state’s population, outnumbering those under 18 for the first time in history.

With the incredible support of our dedicated staff and volunteers, we deliver food and love to thousands of hungry and homebound Angelenos every month. During the holidays, we take special care to include festive gift bags filled with useful items and cheerful greetings, spreading joy to those who might be alone or feel isolated.

Due to the ever-growing number of homebound seniors outside our delivery areas, Kitchen Manager Sandy Leon, along with hardworking staff and dedicated volunteers, prepares and packs hot meals daily. These hundreds of additional meals support over a dozen partner Meals on Wheels programs throughout Los Angeles County. From Pasadena to the South Bay and Santa Monica, these partnerships help fulfill the mission of combating senior hunger in our communities and foster a sense of belonging among many.

We are deeply grateful this holiday season for donors and supporters like you, whose generosity enables us to bring true joy. By providing meals, sending cards, and fostering human connection, we deliver the essence of the holidays—love, kindness, and community—to the seniors we serve, ensuring they know they are not forgotten. Through these actions, your kindness is seen by all.
