Ensuring No One Will Be Forgotten

At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, we are dedicated to our mission of providing nourishing meals to hungry and homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents throughout Los Angeles.

Many of our services extend #BeyondtheMeal to include vital support such as Wellness and Safety Checks and the Friendly Visitor Program. These initiatives are designed to nurture health, ensure safety and support independent living so they may continue to live their lives with dignity in their own homes.

Our Wellness and Safety Checks serve as a cornerstone of the care we provide. In the same spirit of tending to a loved one, our dedicated staff follows up when a client unexpectedly does not answer the door or misses a meal delivery. Should a concern arise, emergency contacts and/or family members are promptly alerted, and necessary actions are taken to assist the client with love and attentiveness.

The Friendly Visitor Program is largely comprised of volunteers who dedicate their time and hearts to forming meaningful relationships with some of our frailest and most isolated seniors mostly without nearby family or friends, often faced with isolation and uncertainty. Our considerate and patient volunteers visit and socialize with a designated client, offering true companionship and support.

Through the efforts of our compassionate staff and volunteers, St. Vincent Meals on Wheels ensures that no one will be forgotten or left alone. We come together to deliver not just meals, but a lasting message of love, care, and community, helping us all thrive.
