We all know that generous contributions from donors are the life blood of nonprofit organizations, but we don’t always get to see the impact of our monetary donations, especially smaller donation amounts like $5 or $10.
Working to shine a light on this impact, and in honor of #GivingTuesday, Public Interest Registry launched its second annual #ImpactOfADonation contest last month, asking NGOs to share an image demonstrating how monetary donations help them advance their missions. We kept it simple by encouraging NGOs to share a photo on Instagram or Twitter with explanations about how donations enable them to better serve their constituents, and we’re delighted to announce the winner and finalists. Congratulations to St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, the #ImpactOfADonation 2016 winner – and recipient of a $2,000 donation – for their post featuring a visual collage of satisfied clients. St. Vincent Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors in and around the Los Angeles area. St. Vincent was selected by a panel of judges who agreed that their post was the most compelling and creative entry and clearly represented their work in the community.
