Celebrating Community

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:3-45

At St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, our top priority is delivering food and love to our homebound and hungry clients. This process starts with our dietitians like Kathy S. and Itchaqueira, who plan healthy and sometimes medically tailored meals, and extends to the chefs, kitchen managers, and staff who carefully prepare each meal. Our dedicated drivers and volunteers not only deliver the food but also bring a friendly smile and a human connection, brightening the light of those who may be feeling isolated, ensuring they are seen and not hidden.

Amidst our everyday work, we also find time to appreciate the simple joys and the rewards of being part of a community serving those in need.

As autumn arrives with cooler days and falling leaves, we’ve had many opportunities to gather, share laughter and good food. From our Circle of Angels brunch, a celebration of Saints Vincent and Louise de Marillac, featuring a mass led by Father Joe and a presentation by Sister Vika, along with delicious, yet humble potato soup prepared by Chef Carlos and his team, to our fun and spooky Halloween bash and a morning spent joyfully honoring the Dodgers’ spectacular World Series win, we’ve embraced the season with open hearts and spirits.

These gatherings are full of fun and camaraderie. They also remind us that the work we do is vital and made possible by the continued support of donors like you. Your generosity strengthens our team, lifts our spirits, and makes these shared moments of joy possible. Serving others uplifts our spirits, strengthens our bonds, deepens our commitment, and helps us all thrive, ensuring that no one feels forgotten, alone, or hungry.
