A Message From Our CEO: Standing Together in Support Amid the Fire Crisis
Dearest Friends,
Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastating impact of the recent fires in our communities. Many of our friends, families, staff, volunteers, and board members have been directly affected, facing unimaginable losses and challenges. To those impacted, please know that we stand with you, holding you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Amid this tragedy, the courage and dedication shown by our team and supporters have been a source of inspiration. Thanks to their efforts, we have maintained our vital services, ensuring meals have reached our homebound seniors and individuals throughout the week. Hotel Dieu continues to provide a haven for our residents, and we encourage everyone living there to stay indoors and protect themselves from the hazardous air quality.
We are deeply grateful to our staff, who have prioritized the needs of those we serve while managing their own concerns for their families and homes. Whether working in the kitchen, delivering meals, or assisting partner organizations, their selflessness and commitment shine through.
Tragically, some of our colleagues and partners have suffered severe losses, including homes. We are profoundly saddened by this and extend our deepest sympathy and unwavering support to them and anyone in our extended family affected by this crisis.
This is a time for unity and compassion. While we continue to deliver meals and provide support, we also want to extend our care to each of you. If there is any way we can help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Let us hold each other close, draw strength from our shared purpose, and move forward together. Your support during this difficult time, and always, means everything to us. We remain hopeful for the future as our city comes together to rebuild and recover. We will continue to keep all those affected in our prayers as we navigate this challenging time.
With optimism and hope,
Veronica Dover
